Hello!

Hello and welcome to JowNow Recording, specializing in contemporary a cappella recording and arranging. Founded and run by a single producer/engineer, me (Hi!), JowNow infuses a passion for a cappella into the recording process, delivering a tailored experience for each group. The Pitch:

So you're in an a cappella group. You put on a good show and have some definately recognizeable talent. You want to get your name out there, expand your influence, or just have something to pass around and have to show for songs your group has learned and can perform the hell out of. Recording a well-produced CD is invaluable for this, and for any a cappella group. It gives your group the chace to show off what they've got vocally, while adding extra layers of musical idea expresion through the studio recording. But it's a costly venture, and with so many potential recording choices out there what should drive your decision?

Most of the easily encounterable options involve hourly rates and studio engineers who know very little about a cappella, who do whatever they can to get the extra hour on the clock. I operate on a fixed per-track pricing system, which offer the benefits of being able to keep prices down while allowing you as much time as you want to add layers, throw around ideas, and polish each track to perfection. To hear the kinds of things I've done, use the flash player above or click on the "Listen/Download" link above.

I've performed in a cappella throughout and beyond college, racking up experience that includes a music-directorship and an ICCA championship. Having been heavily involved in arranging, teaching, directing, performing, and producing songs for a cappella, I've become intuitively familiar with what makes a cappella unique and great. Taken a step further, I apply this familiarity to the studio to run an efficient and productive recording session that brings out the best in your group.
