Music has always been a part of my life. Starting out instrumentally, I began studying piano at the age of 5, and have dabbled in guitar and violin (and the didgeridoo, if you must ask). After some grade school experience in chorus and a couple musicals, I started really focusing on singing after joining the Dear Abbeys at Boston University (where I also completed a music minor). I held a range of positions including President, Webmaster, and ultimately Musical Director my senior year. It was this year that the Abbeys went on to win the 2005 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, which, needless to say, was an experience I shall not soon be forgetting.

I've always been into computers and the technical side of things, so it was only a matter of time before I put two and two together and got into recording. Having had some hobby experience with other sound editing tools, I decided to throw down the cash to buy a Pro Tools setup with some basic monitoring equipment. With a borrowed Neumann TLM 103 mic from a good friend, I began recording my own projects. Soon enough I started recording other groups, and it has steadily grown from there.

Sort of an inside joke from my days in the BU Dear Abbeys, JowNow refers to our once most commonly overused syllables in the days of Daniel Pritikin, our freshman-year music director who actually inspired much of my own musical directorship of the group, which consequently has led me to my current path. After we decided we need to have at least one "jownow" song per semester, other groups even began to incorporate the syllables into their own arrangements as a means of mocking our use of it. Obviously there was then little choice but to glorify and further overuse "jownow" in the form of a domain name. And besides, zabado.com was already taken.

Zabadon't.

Having performed, directed, arranged, and recorded a cappella throughout and beyond my collegiate years, I bring a specialized understanding about recording a cappella that you won't find at just any studio. I can deliver a tailored process to bring out the best in your group's recording. Additionally, since I charge a per-project rate instead of an hourly rate, no shortcuts need to be taken in recording or editing to meet budget requirements. We'll spend as much time on each song as is needed to produce the best quality tracks for a superior album.
